Moorgate Management is throwing its weight behind the ‘Making A Material Difference’ campaign, which sits at the heart of the Builders’ Merchants Federation’s (BMF) initiative to promote the Building Materials sector and the careers available within the sector.
Launched officially at the BMF Annual Conference and Awards event in September, the Sector Awareness programme aims to put the Building Materials sector on the map, making the industry as a whole more attractive to career starters and those looking to take the next step in their careers.
Through new website www.bmcareers.com, the campaign is aiming to highlight all the benefits available to those who choose a career in the building materials sector, as well as the wide variety of jobs available, playing its part in tackling the skills crisis that currently exists in the wider construction industry.
Chris Maityard, Founder of Moorgate Management, said: “The ‘Making a Material Difference’ campaign is a fantastic initiative that sets out to put our sector on the map and help encourage the next generation of builders’ merchants and building material suppliers to join our sector.
“We all know how challenging it can be to find great staff for our businesses, and the fact remains that very few people know just how diverse and enjoyable our sector can be unless they happen to know someone who already works within it. Anything we can do to help promote the sector to young people, parents, teachers and college or university lecturers will help raise awareness of the important role the building materials industry plays within the wider economy.
“At Moorgate Management, and as a BMF Service Member, we will do everything we can to help support the initiative and spread the word far and wide.”
